(Me and daughter Anneliese)
A thought crossed my mind to share a little about me with you. It would be helpful, eh? :)
My name is Celeste and I am 29 years old, a cradle Catholic, and a working stay-at-home mom and wife. ( I don't sit around watching soap's all day!) I am the wife of a US Marine, and mom of Anthony who is almost 6, and Anneliese who is 2 1/2. We also have a boy who resides in heaven, Thomas Christopher. (Hence a few of the links I have on my main page regarding grief, miscarriage and so on. Things I feel passionately about. )
This blogging idea started out initially with documenting the pregnancy of my son. Though on a different blog. This specific blog started shortly after my husband and I married in 2005. (What about our almost 6 year old you might ask? Well, yes, he was born prior to our marriage. After much work on ourselves, and prayer, and more work and more prayer we married.) Anyway, I started blogging shortly after our wedding because my husband left for a two year tour in Japan. Without us. And I was pregnant. Two weeks after he left I discovered I was expecting our second child. Surprise! After getting exceptionally sick during pregnancy I quit my job as a chef for a prestigious winery to stay home and be a mommy. It was my plan for the blog to keep Kevin updated on everything that went on. Of course we spoke constantly on the phone, but I wanted to post pictures and daily news so he could keep up with us while he was away and feel connected.
Our daughter was born while he was on a plane headed home for leave. I kept my cell phone near me all through labor and delivery and when he called asking where I was I replied, "At the hospital holding our daughter!" He was sad that he had missed it all, but he was home!
18 months after our daughters birth he returned stateside once again and we moved to our current duty station in Southern California, Camp Pendleton.
Now I blog to share our life with family and friends. I sometimes use it to vent, share my art or craft ideas, and to just have a little something for myself aside from the kids and life that keeps me busy here at home.
I hope you will come back and visit me!
